Colonel David A. Jones USMC (Ret) (NC)
Dave Jones, a Naval aviator, served in the Marine Corps from 1965 until 1995. Earlier duty included a tour in Vietnam and participation in the evacuation of Phnom Penh and Saigon. Over the years, Dave commanded HMH-361 and MCAS New River, and served as director of the 4th Marine Corps District, as executive officer MAG-16 and as chief of staff for Marine Corps Air Bases, Eastern Area. Following military retirement as a colonel, he served from 1996 until 2002 as military liaison to the Governor of North Carolina. Dave is an active member of the Jacksonville Military Affairs Committee and serves on the board of directors of Wachovia Bank and Coastal Enterprises. He is a founding member, and co-chairman, of the highly successful Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation Carolina Classic Golf Tournament. He and his wife, Diana, have four sons and four grandchildren.
